Starbucks Now Offers Beer, Wine and Digital Tipping too

Starbucks now offers beer and wine in selected stores in the US after 4pm. In a move to maximize profits in the late afternoon hours, this coffee giant has added alcohol and tasty bites to the evening program.  No word yet when this plan will be offered north of the border for us cool Canadians.

Facing strong competition in the coffee market, Starbucks has made some perky moves vying for patrons in the restaurant industry.

• Beer and wine are now offered after 4pm along with tasty bites like chicken skewers and flatbreads.
•  Now offering Oprah Winfrey branded chai tea, a special blend of black and rooibos created by the well known television personality – #TeavanaOprahChai
• Pay Apps – want to pay and TIP electronically? Starbucks has created an app for that!
• Starbucks in downtown Disney

Getting a coffee (or should I say drink?) on the go is fast and high tech. You can preorder and prepay with your iPhone by simply downloading the Starbucks app.  Almost 15% of total sales transactions at Starbucks are made every day with a mobile phone.

If you are a tea drinker, with every purchase of the Oprah tea, Starbucks will make a donation towards youth education.

So, the next time your co-workers decide to head out for a drink after work, you may all be heading to your local Starbucks coffee house.
