McDougall Family Fund Winner!

On November 30th, McDougall Insurance & Financial announced the winner of their social media campaign and the recipient of the $5000 donation.

McDougall Insurance & Financial is a well known community player when it comes to donating and supporting the community as a whole. This time the local company allowed the general public to choose where their donation dollars would go. The contest was run from September 30 – November 30th using an online campaign on the McDougall Facebook page. The campaign was titled, the “McDougall Family Fund”, carrying the company’s McDougall Family branding strategy.

As the submissions rolled in, the candidates were narrowed down to 5 finalists, located in towns from Cobourg to Napanee. It was then up to the public to “share” the page and encourage votes for the cause of their choice.  After over a month of voting the votes were tight, but Queen Elizabeth Public School in Picton had great support pushing their cause to success. The school will be putting the $5000 towards a Naturalized Student Area. The idea was submitted and promoted by William Launderville the Principal of Queen Elizabeth Public School and a number of other community champions.

McDougall Insurance & Financial donates to over 200 local charities, groups and teams annually with this being the first time the public was able to select we the money would go. “It was a great experience, with wonderful feedback from the community. We will certainly look at further developing this idea for the future” says Marketing lead Caley Weese.
